Dimitar Stoyanov Goleshev
Born on December 21st 1958 in the village of Katuntsi, Blagoevgrad area, Bulgaria.
Attends middle school in the village of Mihaltsi, Veliko Tarnovo area, Bulgaria in 1973.
After that, moves to Gorna Oryahovitsa,Bulgaria where he graduates his secondary school education in Sargent Secondary School "Georgi Izmirliev" from 1973 to 1976.
Immediately after that, he begins working in the military in the town of Sredets, Burgas area, Bulgaria from 1976 to 1989, when he leaves to pursue his true passion - Woodcarving.
Since 1989 he has been working as a freelance Sculptor-Woodcarver.
Awarded with a gold medal as a military republican Laureate of the amateur art activities.
He has prepared many exhibitions, and one-man shows:
in the community center of the town of Sredets, Bulgaria;
partial for the amateur artists in the Union of Bulgarian Artists;
in the gallery of the Bulgarian Union of Women in Burgas, Bulgaria;
In 2002, he represented Bulgaria in the symposium for traditional national crafts in Sibiu, Romania under the aegis of UNESCO. For his exceptional works he was welcomed as a member of the Self-taught Craftsmen in UNESCO.
He has done work not only for galleries and shops for Bulgarian crafts in Bulgaria, but also in France, Israel and Greece.
One of his most significant works, is the creation of the iconostasis, the throne and everything made of wood in the new church in one of Burgas's districts - Dolno Ezerovo.
With his huge enthusiasm and tireless work he has restored the iconostasis in the village of Brashlyan, Malko Tarnovo Municipality, Bulgaria as well as in several smaller chapels in the Burgas Area.
Works of his have found place in the collections of many collectors from Bulgaria and from around the world.
